Discount Calculator

About this Discount Calculator tool

Enter the original price and the discount percentage to see the sale price and how much you save. It is useful for shopping, sales and pricing your own products.

How to use it

  1. Enter the original price.
  2. Enter the discount percentage.
  3. Read the final price and the amount saved.

Example

Final price = Original price × (1 − Discount% ÷ 100)

₹2,000 at 25% off: you save ₹500 and pay ₹1,500.

Two successive discounts of 20% and then 10% give a total of 28% off, not 30%.

Frequently asked questions

Why isn't 20% off plus 10% off equal to 30% off?

The second discount applies to the already-reduced price, so the total is 1 − (0.8 × 0.9) = 28%.

How do I find the original price from a sale price?

Divide the sale price by (1 − discount ÷ 100).

Does the price include GST?

Not unless you include it. Use the GST Calculator to add or remove tax.
