Open Graph & Twitter Card Generator
Put the tags inside the <head> of the page. The preview loads the image straight from the address you enter, and nothing is sent to ihatecalc.
What are Open Graph tags?
Open Graph tags are small pieces of code in the head of a web page that decide how a link looks when someone shares it on Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Slack and many other apps. They set the title, description and image of the preview card. Twitter (X) has its own twitter: tags and falls back to the Open Graph ones when they are missing.
How to use this generator

- Copy the tags into the of your page.
Example
For a calculator page the generator produces:
<meta property="og:title" content="Free SIP Calculator for India">
<meta property="og:description" content="Work out what your monthly SIP could grow to.">
<meta property="og:type" content="website">
<meta property="og:url" content="https://example.com/sip-calculator">
<meta name="twitter:card" content="summary_large_image">
Image size and length tips
Use an image around 1200 × 630 pixels (a 1.91 : 1 ratio). It works for most platforms, and a smaller square image works for the small summary card. Keep titles under about 60 characters and descriptions under about 160 so they are not cut off. Each platform decides its own limits, so treat these as safe guides.
Frequently asked questions
Do Open Graph tags affect SEO rankings?
Not directly. They control how shared links look, which can raise clicks and shares. Search rankings come from other signals.
Why does my old preview still show after I changed the tags?
Platforms cache previews. Use each platform's debugger tool, such as Facebook's Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn's Post Inspector, to refresh it.
Do I need both Open Graph and Twitter tags?
Twitter (X) reads the Open Graph tags if the twitter: ones are missing, but twitter:card tells it which layout to use, so it is worth including.
Does the image have to be on my own site?
No, but it must be a public address that loads without a login, and use https so every platform accepts it.
Is my data uploaded?
No. The tags are built in your browser. The preview only loads the image from the address you typed.
