Daily SIP Calculator – Returns on Investing Every Day
The yearly return is treated as an effective rate, so 12% means money grows 12% over 12 months. Real markets do not grow in a straight line, and funds skip market holidays.
What is a daily SIP?
A daily SIP invests a small fixed amount every day instead of once a month. Some mutual fund platforms allow daily SIPs, often from a small minimum such as ₹100, and people like the idea of spreading purchases across many market days. This calculator shows what a daily investment could grow to, and how the total compares with the money you put in.
How the calculation works
The yearly return is converted into a daily rate, (1 + yearly rate)1/365 − 1. Each day the amount is added and the balance then earns that day's return. With the weekdays option, the amount is added only on five days out of every seven, which approximates market days and ignores holidays.
Worked example
You invest ₹100 every day for 10 years and assume 12% a year. You make 3,650 investments and put in ₹3,65,000. The estimated value is about ₹6,78,340.
With weekdays only, you make about 2,608 investments and invest about ₹2,60,800, and the estimated value is about ₹4,84,765.
Frequently asked questions
Is a daily SIP better than a monthly SIP?
Not necessarily. Over long periods the difference is usually small, and what matters more is how much you invest and for how long. Daily purchases do spread your entry across more days.
Which platforms offer a daily SIP?
Some mutual fund houses and platforms do, but options, minimum amounts and charges vary. Check with the fund house or your platform before you rely on it.
What happens on market holidays?
Funds generally cannot buy on holidays, so the instalment is usually skipped or moved. The weekdays option is only an approximation.
Is the return guaranteed?
No. Market returns vary. The result comes from the steady yearly return you enter, so try a few lower and higher figures.
How is this different from the main SIP calculator?
The standard SIP calculator assumes one instalment a month. This one invests every day and treats your return as an effective yearly rate, so the two results will not match exactly even at the same total amount.
