RD Calculator – Recurring Deposit Maturity

What is RD?

A Recurring Deposit (RD) lets you deposit a fixed amount every month for a fixed tenure and earn interest, usually compounded quarterly. It suits people who want a disciplined savings habit with predictable returns.

Formula

Maturity = R × [((1 + i)n − 1) ÷ (1 − (1 + i)−1/3)], where R is the monthly deposit, i is the quarterly rate (annual rate ÷ 4) and n is the number of quarters. Banks may calculate slightly differently.

Worked example

You deposit ₹5,000 per month for 5 years at 7% per year with quarterly compounding. You deposit ₹3,00,000 in total and the maturity is about ₹3,59,664.
